Which format should I pick?
JPG if it goes anywhere and has no transparency. WebP for a website: smaller and keeps transparency. PNG if you need transparency and full compatibility.
Is transparency lost?
WebP and PNG keep it. JPG doesn't support it, so transparent areas become white.
Can I convert iPhone HEIC?
Yes in Safari, which can open them. Chrome and Edge can't yet: there, set the iPhone to save photos as Most Compatible (JPG).
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser.
